Hi, I am Veerle and I took guitar lessons at Muziekschool Collab for years. These lessons helped me enormously to get to where I am now, namely the Bachelor's degree in Music Education at the conservatory. I received a lot of guidance leading up to my admission, with recordings and extra lessons, and above all, motivation and support from my teacher. My days are now filled with making music and teaching, because two years later I am teaching here at the music school myself! This remains a place I keep coming back to because of the great atmosphere between students and teachers. As a student, you are part of a large group of musicians thanks to the involvement and the many projects organized by Collab. Now I am busy finishing my studies and, of course, making a lot of music!
I am Ash Pleijers, a 17-year-old boy who has been singing for a very long time. Singing is truly my passion, which is why I try to do it as often as possible! At school, for example, I am in the school band, with which I have participated in two cabaret shows and several open days with the band! I started at Collab for two reasons: to improve my technique and to prepare for the vocal training program! I received tremendous help with this, and with the help of my vocal teacher Joëlle, I managed to get accepted! Every lesson is incredibly fun, and there is always time for a chat. Everything is also done at a relaxed pace, and if something doesn't work, we do it in steps; this way, I don't overstrain my voice and I can see how far I can go!
The collaboration between Joëlle Savelkoul and Emma Kok began at a young age, when Emma started taking private singing lessons. From the very first moment, there was an immediate connection. Step by step, they worked together on Emma’s development as a singer, from the auditions for The Voice Kids and Ministars to the impressive performances with André Rieu, the concerts at the Concertgebouw, and many other special moments on stage. Emma is a hardworking and exceptionally talented singer who is now known worldwide and followed by millions of people. Although much has changed in Emma’s life, the singing lessons have always remained the same: familiar, enjoyable, and with the same commitment and dedication to always get the best out of her voice.
Hey, I'm Kirsten. I had guitar lessons from Eleën at Muziek Collab for two years, and next academic year I will be studying at BIMM University in Berlin. Alongside my other music lessons, Eleën's lessons contributed to my admission to BIMM because the more holistic approach to teaching really appealed to me. My lessons weren't geared towards learning perfect technique, but rather working on the ear and offering the freedom to develop my own musical taste. Eleën also gave me the space to experiment with writing my own songs, which helped me figure out what I still needed to work on and what my strengths were. Finally, I am very happy that I took lessons here, because it was more than worth the trip from Maastricht to Valkenburg.
